RXR GUIDE TO LA

So I know normally when people do 'a guide to' somewhere, they typically post pictures of the places they are preaching about...BUT I instead decided to post a cluster-fuck of random photos that I took last week (that are semi-unrelated to the places I am about to tell you to go), cuz when have I ever done anything normally...

As you all know, I have been travelling back and forth to LA quite frequently over the past couple months, so I decided to put together a little list of my favourite places in the city.

FAVOURITE NEIGHBOURHOOD/WHERE I STAY IN LA

Silver Lake (on the east side). Silver Lake reminds me of West Queen West (which is where I live in Toronto). It has a bunch of really cute coffee shops, restaurants, and bars along Sunset.

FAVOURITE BEACH

I definitely think it's worth it to trek out of the city if you want to hit up a beach. Point Dume in Malibu is my personal favourite because it's not too crowded.

FAVOURITE BRUNCH SPOT

SQIRL!!!! I honestly eat at this place AT LEAST twice every time I am in LA. If you go, get the 'pesto rice bowl' or the 'brioche french toast'. You'll thank me. They also make a mean matcha!

FAVOURITE LATE NIGHT EATS

Pine and Crane in Silver Lake is amazing Chinese food which doesn't make you feel gross after eating it. The pot-stickers and peanut noodle dish are to die for. Also their iced black passion tea is one of my favourites!

FAVOURITE PATIO

S/O to my Soho House fam - the house in West Hollywood has the most stunning patio that overlooks the whole city.

BEST HIKING

When it comes to the Griffith Park vs. Runyon Canyon debate, I am team Griffith. It's cleaner, the view is nicer, and you won't feel the pressure to go hiking in a full face of make-up like you would in Runyon.

FAVOURITE SPOT IN VENICE

Anyone who has been to Venice and loves Italian food will tell you that you MUST go to Gjelina. Make a reso in advance because this spot is always busy!

FAVOURITE SPOT IN MALIBU

This is hella basic of me, but I am a sucker for Nobu. The seafood is so fresh, the service is great, and THE MATCHA ICE CREAM IN THE 'BENTO BOX' DESSERT IS LIFE CHANGING (Seriously though someone please check me into matcha rehab). Plus if you're lucky, maybe you'll be dining next to Kimmy K.
