Hate it or love it (the underdog's on top...Sorry I couldn't resist) this camo trend does not seem to be dipping anytime soon, and for good reason.

Here is why every 'it' guy in the fashion world is gravitating towards the camo print, and you should too:

1. Camo is the perfect print for men who are not into prints. Some men are weary of incorporating loud and bold prints into their wardrobe, as they do not want to come off flashy. Camo is the one and only print that most men are completely down for, as it has an underlying masculine appeal to it.

2. The tones in the camo print are neutral enough that it is easy to match with most anything.

3. The camo print is classic. Even if this trend does fizzle down over the next couple years, it is bound to make a comeback, so you will never have to get rid of your old camo gear.

4. YOU MAGICALLY BECOME INVISIBLE WHEN YOU WEAR IT

IN THE RAW - MARY YOUNG

Photography : Tyler Hayward @tilore /film/my loft

Just over a month ago I was at a dinner party hosted by The Creator Class, where I was sat next to the stunning and insanely talented lingerie designer, Mary Young. In between drinks and dinner, Mary, our friend Tyler, and myself concocted a plan to do a collaborative shoot.

Fast forward to just over a week ago, when Tyler showed up at my loft, camera in hand, ready to shoot me in some of Mary's lingerie (which BTW is the comfiest thing I have ever tried on). Now, normally I am very comfortable in my own skin (as my close friends will probably tell you I am in fact, TOO comfortable, as most of them, like it or not, have seen me walking around my place fully naked) - BUT when Tyler showed up with a film camera, panic ensued.

*CUE TERRIFYING/INSECURE THOUGHTS CLOUDING MY HEAD*
"OMG couldn't we have shot this in the morning when I didn't feel so bloated?!..Fuck, I shouldn't have eaten that muffin and 5 Pocky sticks before this...I wonder if he can photoshop the constellation of pimples currently invading my jawline out of the photos?! CAN YOU EVEN EDIT/PHOTOSHOP FILM PHOTOS?!!?!"

ANYWAY, when we got to shooting I ended up having the best time and I forgot all about my stupid insecurities for the time being (On a side note - After the shoot, I did learn that you CAN in fact edit film photos once you've scanned them onto the computer - LOL). It wasn't until Tyler told me a week later that he liked the photos as is, and was going to leave them COMPLETELY untouched that once again I found myself having a panic attack.

Now, like I said before, I like to consider myself a fairly self-confident person, but the idea of having un-edited, un-photoshopped, half naked photos of me on an awful skin day on the interwebz for everyone to see was scaring the living shit out of me.

BUT THEN something magical happened *AND LISTEN UP YUNG LADIES CUZ THIS IS IMPORTANT AND YA'LL NEED TO EMBODY THIS IF YOU AREN'T ALREADY*

I took a minute to really think about it, and I realized that

I . DO . NOT . GIVE . A . SHIT. I'm not perfect, but I AM happy. SO HERE I AM WORLD/INTERWEBZ

This is me in the raw - pimple constellation, awkward lanky body parts, big booty and all...go ahead judge me, pick apart all my flaws, say what you want. But just know that my flaws are what make me, me - and although I would much prefer these pimples to fuck right off (BIG EYEROLL) nothing anyone says could possibly make me feel bad about myself, because I love myself and no ones opinion matters but my own.

CUE LESSON

If you love yourself, nothing anyone else says or thinks will affect you.

Now if you LADIEZ are looking for some comfy, but sexy lingerie, that looks amazing on every body-type, head on over to Mary's site and check out her lingerie and loungewear, and while you're there check out my feature/interview on her 'Meet our Muse' series!
