Last Thursday I had the honor of attending the LOVE HER - Toronto benefit to raise awareness and money for ovarian cancer research in Canada. Although the topic of cancer is always difficult to approach, the event kept the night lighthearted and full of laughs. As a result of this amazing charity gala, over $240,000 was raised in support of Ovarian Cancer Canada, in which all of the proceeds are used to provide support, increase awareness, and fund vital research.

As some of you may already know, my mother lost her battle with ovarian cancer when I was 3 years old, so this is a cause that is near and dear to my heart. Growing up I was/am lucky enough to have such an amazing father who painted my nails, played barbies with me, and braided my hair when I didn't have a mother to do all of those things with. Although I love my dad more than anything, I wouldn't wish for any little girl to grow up without her mother by her side. I hope that one day we will be able to live in a world where this awful disease has ceased to exist so that no-one else's mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, or friend has to go through what my beautiful mother went through.

I just want to thank Vittoria and Amanda for inviting me to this special event, and all of the amazing volunteers who made this night happen.
